What else is there to say?

I haven’t posted about the Space Shuttle tragedy because I don’t have anything cogent to add. The one thing that has struck me is that the people seem less dramatically affected than I expected. I thought that, post-9/11, people would be more unsettled than ever by such a disaster. But in fact the reverse has happened. The enormity of 9/11 was so great that it makes even this catastrophe seem mild by comparison. Twenty years from now, today’s fifteen-year-olds will remember where they were on the morning of 9-1-01, but not the morning of 2-1-03.
