New York Times: IBM will operate the Movielink service for movies on demand via the Web.

The Hollywood studios inch closer to accepting reality, and not fighting digital distribution. Most likely, they will initially use draconian digital rights management and pricing schemes that drive users away, just like the music industry’s PressPlay. Also, movies on demand won’t take off until there are enough devices to take content and move it from the PC to any device in your home, including TVs. But both of those factors will change.
