Loquendo is a new text-to-speech

Loquendo is a new text-to-speech (TTS) engine from a spinoff of Telecom Italia. TTS is the poor stepchild of speech recognition, and despite years of research, most implementations still sound like the infamous Drunken Swede. Supposedly, Loquendo is a significant advance. There’s a live demo available, wihch I haven’t tried yet, since I’m logging in from a shared dial-up line. (From the Harrow Technology Report)
